There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Kudu in South Africa, which makes it a suitable trophy year round.

Kudu hunting South Africa

Our hunters typically hunt the South African Kudu in conjunction with a 7-10 day African Safari. One of our Experienced and Licensed Professional Hunters will be your guide during your Kudu Hunt. We typically hunt Kudu Safari Style, Spot and Stalk, or by Still Hunting if you are a Bow Hunter. We can accommodate all methods of Hunting for Kudu including Rifle, Bow, Black Powder, Crossbow or Handgun. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level.

The Greater Kudu which we hunt on our South Africa Concession are the biggest in the World. You can expect a 50-56 inch Kudu on average when hunting with us, with some each year exceeding 60 inches.

We do offer a World Record Class Kudu Prices for Kudu Bulls over 60″…this is rare and must be booked in advance as we only have 1-2 Kudu Bulls available each year in this size range. These Kudu are old breeders that we have special access to for those clients only wanting the biggest record.

What do Kudu look like:

Greater kudus are known for their striking appearance, with long, spiral horns on males. The Kudu Bull’s horns can reach lengths of over 1.8 meters (6 feet), while females do not have any horns. They have a brownish-gray to bluish-gray coat, with thin vertical white stripes running along their body.

Kudu Habitat:
Greater kudus are adaptable to various habitats, including woodlands, savannas, and grasslands. They are often found in areas with dense vegetation, providing them with cover. The African Bushveld in Limpopo province is their absolute favorite surroundings and habitat.

Distribution of Kudu in Africa:
The Kudu’s range includes eastern and southern Africa, from Ethiopia and Tanzania down to South Africa.

Kudu Behavior:

Greater kudus are primarily browsers, feeding on leaves, shoots, fruits, and sometimes grass. These Kudu are mostly active during the early morning and late afternoon, resting in shade during the heat of the day. African Kudu are known for their agility and ability to jump significant heights.

Kudu Conservation Status:

The greater kudu is generally not considered endangered, but local populations may face threats due to habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict.

Kudu Conservation Efforts:

Conservation efforts focus on protecting their habitats, addressing poaching issues, and promoting sustainable land use practices.
